Karen Davies Sugarcraft is now fully IOSS registered — which means the VAT on your order is calculated and collected at checkout, paid directly to your country's tax authority by us, before your parcel even leaves our studio. When your moulds arrive at your door, there is nothing more to pay. No customs bill. No handling fees. No surprises.

What is IOSS, and why does it matter to you?
IOSS stands for Import One Stop Shop — an EU VAT scheme that allows UK sellers to collect and remit EU VAT centrally, on behalf of their customers.

Before IOSS registration, parcels arriving from the UK could be held at customs while the recipient was asked to pay import VAT — sometimes plus a handling fee from the courier. It was slow, unexpected, and costly. Many customers simply stopped ordering from UK shops because of it.

With our IOSS registration, that whole process is handled by us, in advance, electronically. Your parcel is flagged as VAT-paid before it even reaches the EU border. Customs know exactly what's in it, what it's worth, and that the VAT has already been settled. Your parcel moves through quickly, and arrives with nothing to pay.

In short: ordering from us now works much like it did before Brexit. We've done the hard work so you don't have to.

Will I really have nothing to pay when my parcel arrives?
For orders up to €150, yes — absolutely nothing. The VAT is paid at checkout and we've already handled the customs declaration electronically. Your parcel arrives at your door with no additional charges. For orders over €150, import duty may still apply depending on your country — we'll always be clear about this at checkout.
I had a bad experience ordering from the UK before — parcels held up, unexpected fees. How is this different?
We completely understand. Those problems happened because many UK sellers weren't set up properly for post-Brexit EU shipping. Our IOSS registration means we electronically pre-declare your parcel and settle the VAT before it even leaves our studio. Customs can verify it instantly at the border — there's nothing to hold it up for.
What VAT rate will I be charged?
Your own country's standard VAT rate — the same rate you'd pay buying from a local retailer. This is calculated automatically at checkout based on your delivery address. You'll see the exact amount before you confirm your order.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Most EU orders arrive within 5–12 working days depending on your country. Because we file customs data in advance, our parcels tend to clear borders more quickly than standard international mail. You'll receive a tracking number as soon as your order is dispatched.
Do you ship to Norway, Switzerland, or other non-EU European countries?
Yes — we ship across Europe including Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and more. These countries are not covered by IOSS but we still ship there. Customs charges may apply on arrival, and we'll note this clearly for those destinations at checkout.
